When creating the new
Mizuno MP 53 Irons, Mizuno's engineers were charged with the task of developing the most forgiving and playable MP iron in the company's history.
The MP-53 irons, Harmonic Impact Technology was used to create the perfect feel at impact and the 360 degree grind on the trailing edge makes the head size appealing even to better players. The short irons are also smaller than the longer irons for more workability. The pocket cavity removes 14g of weight which is then redistributed round the cavity to give the largest sweet spot of any MP iron to date without adversely affecting versatility.
They wanted the forgiveness of the MX 1000 irons to be blended with the shot-making potential of the MP-52. Mizuno engineers decided that a Diamond Muscle design and a V-shaped milled pocket cavity would allow them to deliver these characteristics.

Chris Voshall, from Mizuno's R&D dept, said: "Our design ethos is about packing as much forgiveness as we can into smaller, more versatile packages. The MP-53 is an incredible iron - it's smaller than our previous game-improvement iron the MX-300, yet still more forgiving.
